With social media playing an ever-increasing role in our daily lives, there are now a great many more things to consider when embarking upon a job search that one certainly wouldn’t have had to worry about five years ago: something we must now consider is the importance of a profile picture.

Many more candidates are now opting to include a photo in their CV, and even those of us that are not doing this will most likely have a LinkedIn Profile, which requires a photograph at the top of your page. This then begs the question, what kind of photograph should you be uploading?

Here are a few tips to help make sure that your profile is getting a good reception...

This is quite possibly the most important thing to remember. Whilst LinkedIn is a social media network, it is most definitely not the same sort of profile as Facebook, Twitter or Instagram, so photographs suitable for those are generally not going to impress on LinkedIn or within your CV. A selfie is one thing, but make sure the picture is professional!

Whilst your trip to Bali with your best friends from university might have been amazing, it is not the first thing that your potential employer needs to know about you. Your profile is exactly that: yours! You want to make it clear who you are, if your photo is of a group of people, it might give the impression that you are more inclined to disappear in the crowd. It is good to show that you are comfortable with in a group, but there’s a time and place to do this, and your professional profile picture is not it.

3. Consider the roles you are applying for

Your CV and/ or your LinkedIn profile will be the first impression that a potential employer gets of you. Once a first impression has been made, it is very difficult to turn this around. When viewing your profile photo and reading your CV, your employer will automatically begin to imagine how you will fit into their team. Whatever types of role you are applying for, make sure that every aspect of your profile/CV gives the right impression.

The Healing Artist

Been a while since I made an update on my blog. I have added quite a new things like buttons colors and styles in a new format tab. Most recently I integrated the ImageUpload component too.  

I have added bold, italic, underline and strike-through  in a typography object property according to which the classes are build by a function for the particular object and applied

Text alignment though text-center, text-left and text-center of bootstrap and the same function buid classes and apply it

I have added all the bootstrap button colors which can be selected through a simple dropdown on format tab and an outline check option which can turn the button to outline.

Images can directly be uploaded to firebase storage and then the link for that image is fed to src property of that object

It was a different task since I had to use a parent callback function as a prop and then change the state of the parent based on prop of upload component. I had to pass one props index too which basically was passed along with the retrieved downloadUrl from firebase storage back to parentCallback prop.

I have to work on lists and the link oprtion of buttons and image since the focus keeps on changing. And then there is alignment of image and buttons. And also the type of image which we'll see later. Moreover, some UI changes for the Insert and Format tab container.

Bootstrap Example Imitation

This may come as a surprise but I never wrote HTML/JSX for this page. Instead this page fetches tags, content and other properties from firebase and produces the page as per the fetched objects.

But isn't it hectic to write tags and content for each in database and not moreover not even know what your page would look like?

Okay were you saying something? This is where DaVinci comes in. 

DaVinci is a visual block editor to easily generate or paint your blog posts taking care of all thecoding behind the scenes. Each tag is saved as an object in database; I am using firebase's firestone for now. And based on id produced by firestore it renders blogs at /blog/:id.

This is what the datas stored in my  firestore actually looks like.

So what I am trying to achieve, there are already great block editors like gutenberg by wordpress. I am aiming it to be a simple package that web developers can just kinda plugin to the next or react apps they make for clients and give the users to produce pages . Yeah that's a long way ahead. For now lets focus on tasks on hand.
